Old Vine Chenin Blanc
TASTING NOTES: Salty and electric on the palate, notes of roasted apples and dried flowers. Pairs well with backyard bird songs and salty chips.
VINEYARD: This Chenin Blanc is sourced from a small block near Los Alamos in Santa Barbara County planted in the late 1960’s. Silica, calcare, and chalk make up the soils beneath these old vines. Ocean breezes whip through the wind gap over the vineyard and through the dense vine canopy. Farmed organically by Michael Brughelli.
WINEMAKING: We macerate this wine on the grape skins for one day before pressing and moving it into neutral French oak barrels, where the native fermentation occurs. During vinification, we do not add or remove anything from the wine. Prior to bottling, we rack the wine into a stainless steel tank. Please expect some solids and tartrates in the bottle.
Rose
Nouveau of Pinot Noir
* BLOOD ORANGE * RASPBERRY * MINT *
Taking inspiration from the fresh and lively Nouveau wines of Beaujolais, our Nouveau of Pinot Noir is the first glimpse into the vintage and a celebration of the harvest. After a 100% carbonic fermentation with native yeast, we bottle the wine unfined, unfiltered and without sulfur. This process produces a lively, juicy wine that’s meant to be enjoyed right away. Nouveau is traditionally released the third Thursday of November, and has become synonymous with Thanksgiving, the holidays and the harvest season.
Our Daily Red
Ripe notes of fresh raspberry and juicy cherry are accented by a subtle aroma of violets. Light-bodied and vibrant with an elegant finish.
The grapes for Our Daily are sourced from organic vineyards around California’s Central Valley, including the Lodi area. The Central Valley’s consistent dry climate, warm weather, and well-drained soils are key factors in successful organic wine growing. The climate allows the fruit to ripen earlier, reducing the risk for weather-related issues such as mildew and mold.
We do not add sulfites to Our Daily Wines because we want a ‘pure’ wine free of preservatives.
Pinot Noir
A silky smooth, titillating Pinot Noir from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, with vibrant red cherry, bramble, earthy nuances and warm spice. The highly sought-after Wairau Valley is an ancient river bed nestled between two mountain ranges and bordered to the North by Cook Strait. Broadly speaking, this finite sub-region of Marlborough covers cooler, drier inland sites, barren stony, early-ripening sites to sea-breeze moderated coastal sites.
Kou Kou
Broc Cellars’ Kou Kou Cabernet Franc is a fresh and vibrant wine coming from Santa Barbara County fruit. There are bold aromas of fresh and slightly jammy strawberry rhubarb. On the palate are the fruit notes, although more light and fresh and not jammy like the nose would insinuate. Light bodied with a low tannin structure and hints of soil, this easy-drinking wine should be served slightly chilled. Pair with roasted poultry or a gruyere-filled grilled cheese sandwich.
Dry Rose
Displays a pale peach color with aromas of wild strawberries and white nectarine. On the palate, bright acidity and flavors of fresh stone fruit are highlighted in this well-balanced, opulent wine. Enjoy through 2022.
49% Counoise | 27% Mourvedre | 24% Grenache
Chenin Blanc
Aged in 25% New French Oak-Filtered Time in Barrel: 19 Months. A deliciously smooth wine with bright acidity balanced with a fruity flavor.
Sparkling Pinotage, Blanc de Noirs, Alta Mesa
Old legends called sparkling creations “The Devil’s Wine,” but this one tastes like it was sent from Heaven. Elegant, sleek, and crisp, it opens with aromas of toasted almonds with a wisp of Magnolia. Smooth and easy on the tongue, with notes of apricot, baked pear, and ruby red grapefruit, along with just the right amount of dryness. Like drinking a glass of sunshine!
Wirz Riesling
Notes of meyer lemon, white peach, fresh cut flowers, grapefruit zest, limestone and a subtle presence of white pepper; it is medium-bodied wine that is bone dry through and through.
