Illuminate Rose

Taste Profile:
The secret to Kim Crawford’s success is serious attention to detail in the vineyards and winery, with a special focus on sustainable practices, individual vineyard block harvesting, and small lot fermentation.

This pale pink wine has bright aromas of watermelon with berry fruit and floral notes. Elegant and finely flavoured on the palate with crisp acidity, fresh berry flavours, and a dry finish. Ideal as an aperitif or summer sipper, this easy-drinking wine also pairs perfectly with lighter salads and other fare. Contains 72 calories per serving.

Winemaking:
The grapes were harvested, destemmed, and gently crushed direct to press with minimal skin contact. The wine has a vibrant colour despite having little time on the skins. The clarified juice was cool fermented with selected yeast strains to retain the primary varietal characters.

“Spinning Cone” technology was used to reduce the alcohol from a portion of the base wine. This is a process of low vacuum distillation that can target removal of alcohol without impacting the aroma of the wine. The alcohol was reduced to below 1% on approximately 60% of the final volume, with 40% of the base blended back to achieve a final alcohol level of 7%.

Pinot Noir

A silky smooth, titillating Pinot Noir from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, with vibrant red cherry, bramble, earthy nuances and warm spice. The highly sought-after Wairau Valley is an ancient river bed nestled between two mountain ranges and bordered to the North by Cook Strait. Broadly speaking, this finite sub-region of Marlborough covers cooler, drier inland sites, barren stony, early-ripening sites to sea-breeze moderated coastal sites.
